the short version.

Sorry I’ve been absent.
As I said before, I’m working on a novel, and as Robertson Davies once said,

”There is absolutely no point in sitting down to write a book unless you feel that you must write that book, or else go mad, or die.”

and in a nutshell, that’s me.

In other news, I’ve now listened to pretty much all of the suggestions that were given to me when I posted on buying my first official jazz cd. With the exception of Brubeck (which I’ve yet to listen to), I must say that my favorite is Abdullah Ibrahim. All I can say is “Wow.” I purchased the album “Piano Solo” and it is unbelievable (in my opinion).

Never before have I been swept up into a melody so quickly. It was as if I were listening to a story being read. I was on the edge of my seat waiting for the next note. I swear “Touch of Your Lips” brought tears to my eyes. I was going to post a video of him playing, but I couldn’t find anything that could do him justice.
If you’re into jazz though, I’d definitely recommend checking him out.

Anyway, I don’t know who you are, but thanks “Rethabile” for recommending him to me.
He’s amazing. And definitely added that extra ’spice’.

I plan to get back to the writing on here during the month of April. I’ve been working on a poem, and reading a lot of good authors, getting some great inspiration and tips.
